Prespav is the first contemporary Macedonian sitcom which continues to entertain its audience since 2016, with 142 episodes produced so far.
The story in Prespav revolves around the Buzalevski brothers. They open a boarding house in the Prespa region in North Macedonia, thanks to the financial support they received from the IPA funds. The boarding house itself is a metaphor for the political and social situation in N. Macedonia where the characters similarly to the people in the country itself try to balance their Balkan mentality and their desire to have a European lifestyle.
The plot is constructed in a way that it gives a comic twist to different domestic and global events. In addition it explores the desire of the main characters to form a symbiotic relationships in which they try to establish a sense of mutual respect and adhere to the European standards of life.
The TV show is abundant of characters which have different identities and come from diverse backgrounds.
